Welcome to the Summer issue of the Europe Air Sports Newsletter! Monte Avena in Italy, the site of the 2017 World Paragliding Championships. The site is south-west of the Dolomite mountains in the Italian Alps. The region is very popular for its beautiful scenery and natural reserve parks. Usually flights take place towards Belluno where the highest peaks are more than 2000 m ASL.

Our Programme Manager, René Meier, has been working hard on several Notices of Proposed Amendment (NPA) and would now like to hear from you with your views, so that he can respond on behalf of all of us. But the deadlines are very soon! So I bring you here ‘January Part One – Consultation’. Please look at these texts and, if you are able to make some comments on them, please respond as quickly as you can.

Welcome to the October issue of the Europe Air Sports Newsletter! There has been a lot going on and this newsletter aims to bring you up to date with recent progress. We include a review from our President David Roberts on some of the successes that Europe Air Sports has achieved over several years. Those of you able to attend the Technical meeting next month will have the opportunity to hear more detail about the work currently under way.

Welcome to the August issue of the Europe Air Sports Newsletter! This issue has a major focus on Remotely Piloted Aircraft Systems (RPAS), commonly referred to as drones. They are a potential threat to many of us, and in particular have the potential to cause damage to the model flying community. Model aircraft flown for pleasure and sport are not the same as drones, but there is a risk of models being swept up in newly drafted regulations.
